Letter from the PCC (February 2022)

Letter from the PCC (November 2021)

Message from the Diocese

To the PCC and Congregation of The Parish of Four Marks,

I am writing on behalf of the Bishop’s Council to sincerely thank your parish for meeting your requested contributions to the 2021 Common Mission Fund in full.

As this unprecedented period continues, we are deeply aware of the huge pressures on so many of our parishes, clergy, and PCCs. The financial support we offer to one another through the Common Mission Fund, helps ensure ordained and lay ministry can be supported where it is needed across our diverse diocesan community.

In 2021 your gift to the Common Mission Fund contributed to the costs of our stipendiary clergy and curates, the training and development of Licenced Lay Ministers, as well those that enrolled in The Bishops’ Commission for Mission programme. We were also able to continue our significant ministry with the 36,000 children, their families, and the staff of 100+ Church of England schools.

We know that many of our parishes continue to have concerns and questions over how the Common Mission Fund is used to support our parish ministry. Improving and expanding our communications, engagement and clarity in this area is a major priority for the Diocesan Team during 2022, to ensure all our PCCs can have confidence in the way our shared financial resources are used.

Across our diocese, we strive to serve all our communities. Thank you for your commitment to this endeavour, it can only be made a reality through the generosity offered by faithful individuals and parishes.

 Best wishes,

 Colin
